Swetzer – Bless Us All

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, Swetzer was stirring with a cover, wait is there a Muppet mouse?

Swetzer is a project fronted by Jake Joyner from Salt Lake City, Utah. He’s been collecting broken-hearted songs and catchy melodies through the years, and Swetzer does its best to get those hooks stuck in your head with strong vocals and quick guitars.

Never fear! Swetzer is here to brighten your Christmas with their cover of “Bless Us All” from A Muppet Christmas Carol. First off, I have to say, hearing Jake’s lovely voice come from Kermit’s mouth is hilarious and fun to see in their music video. The song starts with a harmonized guitar intro then the vocals get added into the mix. Later, the drums start building up with a palm-muted guitar that eventually crashes into a powerful pop-punk beat, complimented by a lead halfway through the section. Then it breaks into half-time feeling riff in the guitar, bass, and drums. The song continues with the half-time feel, but with a guitar solo that gives way to a drum, bass, and vocal section. Finally, the bass gets a chance to shine and shine it does! It then goes a cymbal heavy and vocal harmony-filled section that leads us to the end, which was the harmonized octaves we heard in the beginning. All in all, the song delightful and should help bring you Christmas cheer! You guys like Blink-182? How about Simple Plan? Do you like Pop-punk? Well, make your Christmas bright!
