We took the time out to listen to KreaturKomfort’s Menagerie, and we must say, like their previous album, it was an epic musical journey. The music is diverse like the first album, but this time, there is a great emphasis on synth and 80s synth-wave music with a modern twist. If you’re into that kind of sound, this album is 100% for you, and it is accessible to the casual music listener as well.
The album clocks in at 53 minutes and 30 seconds and contains eighteen songs. On the album you have:
I. Dark Dance
Interlude_Ephemera
II. The Mall
III / The King of Mirrors
IV. Normal Eyes
Triptych. The Green Room, Do You Have to, Just Obey
V_The Stone Prince
The Queen in Jade.
Alas_This Molt (Chorale)
VI. The Ballad of Billy Black
VII. Insomnia
Doxxology.
IIX / Elegy
Recede Ms. Black_Post Facto Existential Blues
.Prelude
IX _ The Menagerie
X / Alas, This Molt – Tantalus Edit
XI. Time
Throughout the album, as spoken words that are attention-grabbing and the transition from “II. The Mall” to “III / The King of Mirrors” was quite seamless and enjoyable.
Since there are so many tracks in this album, we will go over Menagerie’s most listened to track, “I. Dark Dance.” The song starts with a person proclaiming that we are listening to KreaturKomfort’s second studio album. Then it breaks into a dance beat that stops and returns with a synth playing a chord progression. Jay’s angelic voice enters the scene, and the dance beat fades out. Later, a guitar changes the chord progression, and Jay’s voice takes you on a melodic journey. The song swells, and a synth bass makes an appearance. We hope this description entices you to listen to this synth-wave masterpiece and the rest of the album. If you enjoy synth, then you need this album on your playlist now!
