Abigail Fierce took the time from auditioning and singing to answer some questions for us. Let’s see what she has to say!
Tell us about your musical past, would you tell us about your early years?
I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. Both of my parents are in the science field, and we had periodic table placemats growing up. Music was not a thing in our house. I’ve always loved to write, but I started writing music in middle school because I didn’t have many friends. I think it was a way for me to control my narrative when I felt like I didn’t have much control over the things happening to me or around me. I begged my parents to buy me a guitar and when they finally did, it soon became the sound they would hear for up to 6 hours a day!
How would you describe your sound?
Indie pop singer-songwriter. Chill pop songs with thoughtful lyrics and melancholy aspects.
Which artists have the biggest influence on your sound?
Probably the ones I grew up listening to, which would be Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran.
What’s the last song you listened to?
I’m currently working on editing the music video for my latest song, “I Just Wanna Feel Okay Again.” So that one. Over and over and over again.
You just released “I Just Wanna Feel Okay Again” last week. Tell us about it.
“I Just Wanna Feel Okay Again” is a very special song to me. It’s about anxiety, depression, grief, mental health. I wrote this song shortly after both of her parents (my grandparents) passed away within 19 days of each other. As soon as I finished playing the song for her, she just looked at me and said, “how did you encapsulate what I’m feeling exactly?” That’s one of my favorite things about music and writing, it can mean a thousand different things to a thousand different people.
What’s your source for hearing new music?
Spotify shows artists the names of the playlist that their music is streamed on. If any of the titles jump out to me, I will usually save them to my library. I figure if someone listens to my music, we probably have similar taste in music.
If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be?
My 17-year-old self.
What led you to music, and what motivates you to keep making it?
I loved the way music made me feel. I felt like it was there for me when people weren’t. Writing lyrics felt really calming to me. Once I started releasing music and having people message me about how much they related to it, I knew that it was something that I had to keep doing.

Tell us about the songwriting process. How does it all come together?
I’m usually just messing around on the guitar until something clicks. A lot of the time, for me, it starts with the words. Sometimes, I’ll just write pages of lyrics before deciding where to put them and how to shape the story together.
You’re so young and yet you’re pretty well established as an actor and a musician! Has it been a relatively smooth road?
I haven’t been on many smooth roads in my life. There are a handful of rocky career choices in this world and I chose two of them.
Tell us about your most recent struggle.
Recently, I booked a job in an episode of a huge HBO series, but the scene got cut. Things like that happen all the time, and sometimes it’s hard to remain positive, but you have to try. As for music, it took me a long time to figure out what I wanted my sound to be. But now that I play all the instruments on my tracks, I’m the one that’s in charge in the studio. I can play around and tweak things until they reflect the idea I had in my head.
How do you connect with your audience? What is the easiest way for them to connect with you?

As for acting, I’m always auditioning for roles that are meaningful to me. I’m not allowed to say anything yet, but there will be some more announcements soon!
Fun Fact about you?
I love dogs. I’m obsessed with bull terriers right now.
Bio:
Abigail Fierce is an indie pop singer-songwriter/actress living in LA. She loves to write songs alone at 4am. Abigail plays all of the instruments on her own tracks, except drums. Although many who have interviewed Abigail describe her as “wise beyond her years”, it’s Abigail’s gen z relatability that makes tracks like “Girl in the Mirror” so popular. Her latest release “I Just Wanna Feel Okay Again” is a comforting singer-songwriter piece that feels less like a song, and more like medicine for the soul. With Abigail Fierce’s usual mix of poetic lyrics and beautiful honey-toned vocals, the song does not disappoint.
As an actress, Abigail can be seen as Wendy on the Hulu series “Love, Victor,” NBC’s “This Is Us,”Netflix’s “American Vandal” and Facebook Watch’s “The Set Up” starring Hannah Stocking and Lele Pons. Abigail’s latest acting project was starring in the Paramount+/Nickelodeon movie “Fantasy Football”, alongside Marsai Martin (ABC’s Black-ish) and Kelly Rowland (from the band Destiny’s Child). You can follow her on Instagram and TikTok @akfierce and on Twitter @abfierce.
