Steve Rawles Frontman of Belvedere – “Being up late is the best time for me to open up my creativity.  I’m useless before midnight which is difficult now because I go to bed at 10pm.” – Interview

Do you have a story behind your artist name?

It’s my name, pretty boring but hey it works?

Tells us a bit about your music journey. How has it shaped you?

After spending 20 years touring with other people in bands, I thought it would be nice to go by myself for a while. My buddy Josh comes with me sometimes so it’s more a 2-fer than a solo thing.  Usually by the end of the tour I want to go on tour with the band again.  So this is a nice back and forth.

How would you describe your sound to someone unfamiliar with it?

Punk acoustic and beach tunes.

What drew you to the genre /instruments you’re playing right now?

Punk always drew me in with the lyrical content and fast rhythms.  The scene is always so supportive and hence why I’m able to do some acoustic touring.

What inspires you to write music?

Being up late is the best time for me to open up my creativity.  I’m useless before midnight which is difficult now because I go to bed at 10pm.

Would you tell us about your current project, album/EP, or song you’re promoting?

Just a re-press on vinyl from my only album – Bonus Room.  I’m very busy with band touring in Europe, Canada and The US, but I’ll get some acoustic touring going again soon.

What do you want listeners to take away from listening to your music?

Be happy, not sad. The band takes care lyrically of the more pressing issues of the world.

Who are your top three artists right now? If that’s not a fair question, what’s your favorite song right now?

The Anti-Queens, For I Am, and Drunktank are in my rotation. Authority Zero too!

What’s the easiest way for fans to connect with you?

I’m probably the most available person on social media.

What’s next for you?

Touring Europe with Belvedere, we’re supporting Strung Out which is very exciting.

Anything else you’d like to add or let us know about?

I’m a people person, come say hi at the merch booth!
