Exhale Reignite Their Sound with “Unspoken” and “Playground” Re-Release

Sacramento’s own Exhale are back and louder than ever with the re-release of “Unspoken” and a brand-new track, “Playground.” Blending the raw energy of Alternative Rock with the melodic drive of Pop-Punk, the trio delivers a one-two punch that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly alive.

“Unspoken” kicks off with an instantly gripping guitar riff before diving into a wall of sound that perfectly supports Emma Simpson’s dynamic and soulful vocals. Her voice soars over tight instrumentation that channels the best of early 2000s Alternative Rock—think Paramore meets Foo Fighters. The rhythm section, powered by Orrey Severet’s drumming, propels the song with a confident pulse, while Taylor Wong’s guitar work adds layers of grit and melody. It’s an anthem that feels equally at home blasting through car speakers or echoing through a packed venue.

Then comes “Playground,” a track that captures the heart of what made the band fall in love with making music in the first place. The song’s infectious chorus and punchy rhythm section invite listeners to jump, shout, and remember the joy of youthful freedom. Emma’s vocals are packed with emotion and power, while Taylor’s guitar lines deliver playful yet potent hooks. There’s a sense of celebration woven into every beat—a love letter to those 2010 nights when the stage was their playground. Recorded and mixed by Kevin Prince at One Eleven Music Studios, it truly captures what the Sacramento are can do with music, and it’s phenomenal.

This two-song release showcases not just the band’s musical chemistry, but their growth and passion for creating honest, high-energy rock. Having formed in 2010 and made their mark on California’s local scene (with “Unspoken” even landing spins on 98 Rock), Exhale are proving that time apart hasn’t dulled their spark—it’s only sharpened it.

If you’re a fan of Foo Fighters, Paramore, The Dead Weather, Saves the Day, or Winona Fighter, this release will hit all the right notes. “Exhale (Re-Release)” isn’t just a revival—it’s a reminder that some bands never lose their fire.

Bio:
We are Exhale from Sacramento, CA! Collectively we have been playing music for over 60 years, however our journey together began in 2010, which took us on a LOUD AND STRONG circuit for the next year and a half. We had the opportunity to record an EP, play shows all over California and find mentorship (and even airtime on 98 Rock) from Mark Gilmore. Our love of music ultimately took Taylor and Orrey to Berklee College of Music in Boston and took Emma to Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. However, we remained close and personal friends throughout our next endeavors. Now, in 2025, we are back with a vengeance to create new music, play even better rock shows and show the world that our song is not over. In fact, our passion and energy burns even stronger this time! With a brand new single dropping September 25, 2025; a new, full-length album set to drop in June of 2026; and a reignited excitement from our fans, friends and family surrounding Exhale, we look forward to what this next year will bring.
