The Revolution Will Not Be Amplified: Duane Regretzky releases new single “Revolution State of Mind”

Far more than airing a grievance, Duane Regretzky has loaded “Revolution State of Mind” with a laundry list of reprehensible reasons to be pissed off – and somehow makes you want to do a jig while fuming at the state of the world. In the first single from his forthcoming debut studio LP, Duane Regretzky wields the heavyweight ethos of punk lyricism with an upbeat and dangerously unassuming acoustic approach.

If Woody Guthrie was a few spiked double-doubles deep, chain smoking Pall Malls and threw subtlety to the wind, he might sound more like Duane Regretzky. The newly minted solo project from guitarist/singer and founder of BC punk outfit Let’s Go unplugs the amp but doesn’t lose a decibel of integrity. In true punk fashion, “Revolution State of Mind” is a call to action that can be heard regardless of how deep in the sand your head is buried. Taking aim at the growing regularity of hate speech, the pitfalls of inaction, the swindle of theological peddlers and so much more, “Revolution State of Mind” is a timely reminder to stay aware of what’s happening.

The choice to deliver this musical manifesto via acoustic guitar keeps the focus on the message while remaining sonically upbeat. Perhaps one of the greatest gifts Canadian artists possess is their ability to deliver devastating commentary in accessible and modest means – and Duane Regretzky exemplifies this trait.

Switching between sing-along and sneers, Duane Regretzky delivers high energy acoustic punk with the same power as if a full band was backing him. There is no doubt that he has a lot to say and the world seems to keep providing an unending amount of…let’s call it “inspiration”.

If no one is going to listen to the person on the soapbox, I sure hope they listen to the person with the guitar.
“Revolution State of Mind” is the first single from Mind Palace arriving February 27, 2026 via High End Denim Records.
