Today Junior come out at night with ‘Werewolves of Boston’

Boston indie fuzz-punk trio salute our human impulses to assemble under the moon through a lively new surf-rock single on Friday, August 7

A new album from Today Junior is set to arrive in September, but not before the Boston trio unveils its final sonic appetizer through a spirited new single called “Werewolves of Boston,” out today.

With a lively surf-rock bounce and an indie fuzz-punk glide, this new ripper is about the human creatures that come out at night, crashing the parties, dive bars, and the basement shows after a long hard day on the work grind.

“A song about when the 9-to-5 day ends, the nighttime begins and your inner wild child takes over,” Today Junior share. “When the sun sets and you find your way to the Allston basements, dive bars, and local shows. When the drudgery and obligations end, the creatures come out to play.”

The band snapped the single artwork, in front of the iconic Blanchard’s neon sign just off the corner of Harvard and Brighton Avenues in their home turf of Allston, without knowing the longtime liquor store and neighborhood staple would announce its closing the very next day.

“Werewolves of Boston” is the follow-up to June’s urgent “Keep on Pushing Me,” and both tracks will be featured on the new record, titled Stranger Days and streaming everywhere September 4.
