Formed in 2013, Martyr for Madison is a 4-piece emo/post-hardcore outfit born in West Michigan. The band’s signature sound seeks to balance a catchy melody, an honest voice, an energetic live show, and heavy vibes. Like the gravitational pull of the sun, we keep being brought back to “Heliocentric” by Martyr for Madison. We were captivated by this music video, from the opening riff to the closing chords. The music video was professionally shot. The video featured each band member shrouded in shadows and panned to separately, giving the footage great movement and flow. The song had an extremely accessible and enjoyable sound. Long-time listeners of Pop-Punk and Emo would fall in love with this instant classic. People not familiar with the genres can quickly be drawn into the song’s allure. The vocals were perfect, the guitars played memorable riffs, the bass bumped, and the drums kept your head moving. The song had memorable and meaningful lyrics. The chorus was magnificent. “You wanna get a reaction, you’ve got no heart or compassion – line in the sand.
