These guys say they’re wannabes but, we think they’re the real deal! They play some real good Mexican Punk Rock!
First off, What’s up with your name? Is there a story behind it?
The name started as a joke because one day we were talking about a world full of wannabes, and pepito is one of the most common names in Mexico, that’s why we decided to name the band Pepito Wannabe.
Tell us about your musical past, would you tell us about your early years?
We used to play from metal, to punk, pop, and other musical genres, each of us played for a long time, chema the guitarist played in a black metal band, tavo in a punk band and aldebaran in various musical genres, at the end of 2020 we decided to formalize Pepito Wannabe as a project.
How would you describe your sound?
Our sound is real, simple but catchy, and powerful, people need love, and we give them love and make them reflect with our lyrics.
Which artists have the biggest influence on your sound?
MXPX, Mest, Blink 182, No use for a Name, Sum 41 , New found glory, teenage bottle rocket, Nofx, Nerf Herder and many others

What’s your source for hearing new music?
There are many platforms to listen to new bands with excellent music, on instagram pages like yours are a reference, there is also spotify, youtube, and many other platforms where you can find infinitely.
Who is your dream producer?
Wow, just one dream producer? complicated, but i think can be Jerry Finn (RIP), or maybe Mike Green, or Neil Avron.
If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be?
Well , Jerry Finn as a producer, New Found Glory as a band.
What led you to music, and what motivates you to keep making it?
Music teaches you to open your feelings through it, you can tell someone that you love them with music, or that you hate them with music, because music is the voice of the soul.
Tell us about the songwriting process. How does it all come together?
The whole songwriting process is very simple, we write about our own experiences, most of them good ones.
How do you connect with your audience? What is the easiest way for them to connect with you?
The best way to connect with the audience is when they come and listen to your music, but the easiest way for most is to listen to you on platforms.

What’s next for you?
We will be recording our new album in February 2023, it will be called, “From love to Concern”, we are working on it, and we have had good acceptance with our current album “Todos Somos Pepito”
