Sid Seth took the time out to tell us about what motivates him in making music and about his sound. Let’s see what he has to say!
First off, What’s up with your name? Is there a story behind it?
Hey! I’m Sid Seth. My full name is Sidhant but my friends and family call me Sid so that became my artist name. And, Seth is my last name!
Tell us about your musical past, would you tell us about your early years?
Growing up I was introduced to varied styles of music. My mother would play songs by Simon & Garfunkel and the Beatles, while my dad would introduce me to Bollywood music and Indian Classical Music. Then in middle school I really enjoyed some rock bands, RnB and pop because who doesn’t like to be a crazy teen. But what drew my heart was soul music. So I guess growing up I listened to a mish mash of a lot of genres.
How would you describe your sound?
I have varied influences but I guess to simplify I’d call it Pop/Soul.
Which artists have the biggest influence on your sound?
A lot of artists have played their role in shaping my sound. However, I always come back to Stevie Wonder’s soulful talent, Michael Jackson’s uniqueness, Ella Fitzgerald’s ringing voice and the deep voice of Adele.
What’s the last song you listened to?
Currently, I am loving “Blind by SZA”. The whole album is a vibe.
What’s your source for hearing new music?
Social media for sure. But also friends sharing their picks.
Who is your dream producer?
I would love to do a track with Max Martin, Rick Rubin or Mark Ronson. That’d be insane.
If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be?
I really enjoy Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and Taylor Swift’s collaborations. It’d be insane!
What led you to music, and what motivates you to keep making it?
Story telling. I just find it so fascinating that in less than 3 mins, you could create magic and transport someone to a memory or world that is personable to them. I guess good story telling and melody motivates me.
Tell us about the songwriting process. How does it all come together?
Absolutely random. Sometimes it starts with the lyrics and sometimes it’s just gibberish. Ya, that with pretty chords. Lol.

What’s next for you?
I have a new single coming out very soon. It’s very different from what I have released until now and it’s my favorite one. I can’t wait to share it. I’ll post about it soon on my socials. So stay in touch!
