I LOVE RICH took some time to tell us about their music and how they make it. We love it! Let’s see what they have to say!
First off, What’s up with your name? Is there a story behind it?
Not really, I’d be the first to tell you it’s kind of a stupid name. Most of our songs are about me, either how hard the band and I rock or what a sexual dynamo I am, so it does make sense on some level.
Tell us about your musical past, would you tell us about your early years?
The early version of the band (which goes back to the 90’s) was more of pop-punk band, and once we had a member change or 2 we developed into much more of a straight ahead rock and roll band. Even though there are still strong elements of punk and pop in our music.
How would you describe your sound?
I think the best way to describe our music is “kick-ass baby making music”. Sure, it’s rocking and kind of heavy, but it’s also so, so sexy.
Which artists have the biggest influence on your sound?
Old school rock and roll is definelty the influence, stuff like KISS, The Ramones, Turbonegro, The Wildhearts
What’s the last song you listened to?
“Bite the Bullet” by the band Eclipse. That band fucking RULES.
What’s your source for hearing new music?
Podcasts like Decibel Geek, friends on social media, going to shows and playing shows. So much good stuff out there, you just got to look for it.
Who is your dream producer?
Well, fist and foremost we usually record with Andy Gerber at Million Yen Studios in Chicago and he’s great.
But if you’re talking about famous people, it’d be awesome to work with Bob Ezrin.
If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be?
I think the band I have now is perfect for me, but it would be cool with writing with the Turbonegro dudes, Paul Stanley or Desomond Child. Oh, and Ginger from The Wildhearts!
What led you to music, and what motivates you to keep making it?
I’m not sure what led me to music, probably just the fact that I love rock and roll more than just about anything, and I was confident I had something fun and awesome to offer.
There’s time when being in a band can be a pain in the ass, but then we have a great show or write a really good new song and I’m 100 percent back on it. I’m a rock and roll lifer and will keep playing rock and roll until I physically can’t do it.
Tell us about the songwriting process. How does it all come together?
Either I have a song title or melody that we write around, or someone has a riff and we work around that. Ideally, someone has a riff and it goes with a vocal idea I have, the best songs seem to be written fairly quickly.
How do you connect with your audience? What is the easiest way for them to connect with you?
We’re easy to get ahold of, on Facebook, Twitter and the rest of social media. Drop one of us a message and we’ll get right back to you.

Bio:
How did 4 rock n roll fanatics become the best rock and roll band on Earth? Was it the blended “secret mix” of Kiss, Ramones and Turbonegro? Possibly. Was it their Supermodel looks? Almost definitely. Could it be their virtuoso playing? A little less likely, BUT the secret is revealed in their new song, Rock and Roll Conspiracy by Chicago legends, I Love Rich.
Dropping globally on August 22nd, 2022, the new album, You Have The Right, To Remain Sexy explodes with Coolness, Killer Riffs, and enough energy to bring James Brown back from the beyond. I Love Rich have been kicking ass since the mid 90’s and they show no signs of slowing down with their new album.
Continuing the tradition of rock and roll isn’t easy, but then again neither is world domination. It’s hard to imagine how four good looking dudes from Chicago have managed to stay so sexy, let alone so relevant in today’s world where rock and roll is not the dominant form of music. But somehow, I Love Rich sound current and timeless, unlike a lot of other rock and roll bands that seem to be playing a stale, dated version of rock. The new album You Have The Right, To Remain Sexy is truly the sound of tomorrow, today!
Always a fiery live act, I Love Rich returned to Million Yen Studios in their hometown of Chicago at various times over 2021-2022 to record You Have The Right, To Remain Sexy with Andy Gerber (who’s recorded albums for likes of Cheap Trick and Local H). The resulting masterpiece in your hands if you’re reading this.
I Love Rich have throwing a kick ass rock and roll party for over 2 decades now, and they they’re fighting to make sure that You Have The Right, To Remain Sexy. Isn’t it time you join the party?
