Number One Sons – Wankers EP – Review

We love Number One Sons! Danny is one of the coolest dudes to chat with, and it really helped us notice Number One Sons. We love Number One Sons so much that we at Moosic Entertainment gave them the Best Pop-Punk Award for the Year 2022! We’ve been following them through their singles being released, and they are indeed masters of Pop-Punk!

We’ve had Number One Sons on our Pop-Punk Revolution Podcast, they’ve taken over our Pop-Punk Revolution Playlist on Spotify, they’ve done a written interview with us, and we’ve even written a review on their single “Bored.” If you’re just discovering Number One Sons, we completely encourage you to learn more about them in our previous articles. Before we review Number One Sons’ Wankers EP, we recommend you check it out on Spotify first. Fans of Green Day and Blink-182 would find the Wankers EP phenomenal!

Wankers EP opens with “Bored,” and it’s anything but boring. It has hilarious lyrics, infectious guitar riffs, and drums that move you to the core. Any person who’s into Pop-Punk will love “Bored.” “I Don’t Wanna Be A Meme” is another humorous take on pop culture. It explores the concept of becoming a meme and how much it would suck, especially if it’s a negative one like the Scumbag Steve meme.

“I Lived” has a powerful and moving chorus that’ll have you singing along while you bounce around in your room to the beat. Just be sure no one’s around to record and make a meme of you. But you could get pretty popular on TikTok from dancing to this music, and people would for sure know that you lived. “No Place To Go” sounds like it should have been on the American Idiot album by Green Day. “No Place To Go” first came out around the time Russia invaded Ukraine, and the lyrics deal with the fact that many people were displaced during the conflict.

Number One Sons

Number One Sons never cease to impress us. “Out Of Your Head” has a chorus that makes you want to yell out the lyrics. We could totally imagine legions of fans yelling, “What do you want from me?” over and over; what a sight it would be! Wankers EP concludes with my personal favorite song on the EP. It is the best song to close with because the lyrics are funny, and will stick with you after it’s over. “I’d Be So Much Cooler If I Was a Dick” is about super-rich dudes doing whatever they want and how they can get out of the mess they create. It’s really funny because it happens every day in the United States. Is that funny, or is it sad? Whatever, we love the song!

Wankers EP is genuinely a Pop-Punk gem! It sounds as if Green Day and Blink-182 had a baby while listening to Sum-41. It is truly a hilarious EP filled with classic Pop-Punk sounding riffs that would please any fan of the genre. You need to hear Wankers EP if you haven’t already. It’s like a time machine that’ll take you back to 2004 when American Idiot came out, and Blink-182 had the lineup during their heyday (I know Blink-182 reunited with that lineup, but the sentiment still stands). Number One Sons are the sound of Pop-Punk! Add Wankers EP to your playlist now!
