Claudia Cappelletti took time out of her busy schedule to answer our questions about her music and her songwriting process.
First off, What’s up with your name? Is there a story behind it?
It’s my real name.
Tell us about your musical past, would you tell us about your early years?
I had a strong passion for singing from a very young age with a transgressive soul made of music on the street and journeys dedicated to music. I graduated in Contemporary Singing at the CPM Music Academy in Milan; I was immediately hired by two Swiss music agencies as a professional singer in luxury hotels around the world. After several years I wanted to try to make her way in the United States where I lived for several years and shared music with different musicians. I learned to read the crowd and catch their attention with a charismatic and explosive way of singing on stage. In the last years, I focused on my own music and got the big opportunity to work with the famous producer Ryan Hadlock (famous for his productions with The Lumineers, Vance Joy, Brandie Carlile, and many others) at the Bear Creek Studio in Seattle USA where she got to produce several of her songs very well welcomed by the crowds.
How would you describe your sound?
Powerful, emotional, deep
Which artists have the biggest influence on your sound?
The Killers, Bleachers, Band of Horses
What’s the last song you listened to?
Chinatown by Bleachers feat. Bruce Springsteen
What’s your source for hearing new music?
Spotify
Who is your dream producer?
Shawn Everett
If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be?
I’m a huge Bruce Springsteen’s fan since a very young age, I would love to make something with him. On the “female” side Lady Gaga and Florence and the Machine.
What led you to music, and what motivates you to keep making it?
A very strong emotional connection since I remembered. My dad was a very passionate music listener too and he shared this passion with me since I was a child, I remember singing with him in his car all “Queen” songs.
Tell us about the songwriting process. How does it all come together?
So far, I always start from playing around with the guitar and making a melody with it and when I feel something vibrates inside of me then I know that’s the right melody…. The kind of melody inspire the lyrics for the song…
How do you connect with your audience? What is the easiest way for them to connect with you?
Beside the modern way with social medias like Instagram (@claudiacappellettimusic) the straight way to arrive to them is by performing at concerts since I LOVE performing and I think that’s my biggest potential.
