Formed in 2023, East Lansing, MI, based Groove Doctors 3 has quickly captivated audiences across the Midwest and beyond with their infectious energy and eclectic repertoire. This vibrant trio is comprised of Seattle, WA born guitarist/vocalist Michael Lawrence (Professor of Law), from Newton, MA, is drummer David Stowe (Professor of Religious Studies), and hailing from Houston, TX and bassist Glenn Chambers (Professor of History and Interim Dean of the Honors College).
The GD3 guys are lifelong musicians and longtime friends, who meet up after conducting classes to let loose and rock out with a growing collection of original songs — plus their spin on past hits and deep cuts. Each band mate is an academic “Doctor”whose day jobs are as professors at Michigan State University. All have published books in their respective fields. In fact David teaches and writes about music as part of his professor duties. Mike is also a private pilot when not teaching or playing music. They’re now recorded into a debut album titled LIVE AND LET LIVE, on the Maintain Zen Music label. The release street-dates on major retail outlets on May 23, 2025.
