The headline reads: Florida man, I mean Florida band pleads guilty to having an awesome single and an awesome lyric video.
The DEV are a hard rock band from Orlando, Florida. They formed in 2018 and made a splash on the scene with their single. They consist of Nikollaj on vocals, Ryan on guitar, Barret on guitar, John on bass, and Chris on drums. Legend has it that they found Nikollaj through a Craig’s List ad. Unlike most Craig’s List ads for musicians, this one was 100% legit. It sounds as if they were one of those manufactured supergroups from a well-know producer. Nope, they were formed from a website that has a section for casual encounters; you can’t make this up!

The DEV’s single “Broken Lies” starts with an awesome guitar lick that would make Synyster Gates of Avenged Sevenfold blush. The rhythm section locks in with a strong and pounding rhythm that’ll have you raising your horns to the air and headbanging in an instant. Then you’re surprised with a strong female lead vocal that’ll give Pat Benatar and Lita Ford a run for their money. You’ll be singing along with “You had your broken, you had your broken life,” after the first hearing because the hook grabs you by the ear and leads you to musical nirvana. When the lead hits, Synyster Gates would have to tip his fedora with pride to hear such awesome shredding. Fans of Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch, and All That Remains, but fronted by a female need these guys on their playlist now!
