Grim said this about the title of his new album: “The name Deviant Dialect comes from the way I speak, really. I grew up in New England with a strong Rhode Island accent. I left the state around 16 to hitchhike and train-hop the country, embracing the music and culture I found. My travels landed me in California, and since then, my dialect has changed. When I’m in RI and meet new Rhode Islanders, they can’t match my accent, yet on the west coast, most people can tell I’m from the northeast. So, my dialect is known to deviate from the norm. Lol, my accent is all fucked up!”

Review: CTRL+Space was privileged enough to listen to Grim Singmuf’s Deviant Dialect before the release. So, we got the information you need to know about his badass, Hip-Hop work of art. This album is set to release on 05/22/2020, so set your alarm clocks, because from what we heard, you’ll want to hear as soon as you can too. This album has a definite old-school rap feeling, yet still remaining fresh and unique. Many of the songs have guest vocalists; several are Earworm Artists that were featured here on CTRL+Space. They add excitement and variety to round the album out. All the songs sound like they belong on a Grim Singmuf album, but they are all quite different, a lot like what Grim Singmuf mentioned about his own dialect. Deviant Dialect drops 05/22/2020, so be sure to pre-save on Spotify, or follow him on that platform.

Seriously, that’s nineteen tracks on one album! That’s a lot of music!
As we did with Grim Singmuf’s and Canna CDK’s album, Back 2 Basics, we’re going to review one song to not spoil the album for you. We assure you, it’s more of what you’ve come to love from Grim Singmuf and is worth a listen for sure.
“Deviant Dialect” starts with an electric piano, but Grim Singmuf breaks in with his sick flow, talking about why he raps and all things that can’t stop him from rapping. About halfway through the track, the vocals drop, and pitch and Grim starts rapping about his herbal remedies and his Earworm family. The track ends with the backing track doing a pitch warp. If you don’t have Deviant Dialect saved right now as in your playlist, then what are you doing with your life? Seriously, save it and play it on 05/22/2020.
