Sinister Intent has exactly what you’d expect from an artist like Canna CDK. It has great hooks, catchy beats, and of course, the reason why everyone listens to this kind of rap: Twisted lyrics. In the album, you’ll have traditional rap beats, distorted bass, and even electric guitar to add some variety. The lyrical content ranges from mental health issues, to saying fuck haters, to murder, to drug use, and to distorted reality perceptions.
The album has a great deal of variety. It goes from hard and fast to soft and almost tender, well, as soft and tender as this style of music gets to.
An example of this is my favorite track on the album, “Afflicted.” It starts with some piano chords, and Canna CDK raps about the pain he’s going on through in life. “Seems no matter what I do, no matter what I say. Never seems to go away, pain never seems to fade.” Right now, in 2020, I think many of us could easily relate to those lyrics.
After the hook was established, Canna breaks loose over a soaring guitar. Seriously, you guys need to hear it. It’s awesome!
For anyone who digs twisted music, or hardcore rap, you need this album on your playlist now!
