First off, What’s up with your name? Is there a story behind it?
- Our name originated from the Trump administration. If you recall, he had an infamous speech where he called latinos from Mexico, “Bad Hombres”. As a group previously known as, Behind The Mask, we took the fervor from the speech and statement to forge a new frontier in our music.
Tell us about your musical past, would you tell us about your early years?
- We are all seasoned musicians. We have been playing music individually for over 20 years. We are all close friends and consider each other family. It is the main reason we have such great musical chemistry. All members of the group have varied beginnings with early bands resembling our biggest influences in music.
How would you describe your sound?
- An eclectic take on our influences in life, music, romance, anger, love, and passion.
Which artists have the biggest influence on your sound?
- Morrissey, The Cure, The Smiths, U2, The Beatles, The Chameleons, Interpol, Caifanes, Soda Stereo, Heroes del Silencio, Café Tacvba, Coldplay, Danzig, Radiohead, Pantera, Alice In Chains, Deftones, Rage against the Machine, Jane’s Addictions, Tiger Army, Arcade Fire and much more..
What’s the last song you listened to?
- The last song we listened to was “Jane Says” by Janes Addiction. We were all at the show in Hollywood at the Palladiom.
What’s your source for hearing new music?
- It is a tie between Youtube and Spotify
Who is your dream producer?
- It would have to be Rick Rubin. He is the individual responsible for so many great albums with straight forward clean sounds and creativity.
If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be?
- Morrissey, if he would have us, Rufus Du Sol, Radiohead, and Arcade Fire
What led you to music, and what motivates you to keep making it?
- Music is in our blood. To be without it means depression or death. The motivation is to leave a legacy of music for all the world to hear and relate. Every country and city will have at least 1 person who loves, remembers, and spreads our music for generations!
Tell us about the songwriting process. How does it all come together?
- We all enjoy taking part of the songwriting process. We lock ourselves in our guitar player’s home studio and riff on new melodies and sounds flowing through our veins. We try different drum rhythms, bass lines, vocal tones, and cadences. This process usually takes about a month of creating a foundation. It usually takes another month to refine completely.
How do you connect with your audience? What is the easiest way for them to connect with you?
- We absolutely enjoy having intimate shows in our city and across the country. Small shows is one of the best ways we have found to truly connect with a new person who is listening and grooving to our songs for the first time. We live in the social media age, anyone can check us out to talk, comment, or get a drink with us through Instagram and Youtube.

What’s next for you?
- We will continue to focus on recording more songs, small weekend tours, build our audience, create more songs, create music video, podcasts, and most importantly evolve!

Bio:
Born in Los Angeles, Bad Hombres is a 4-piece band with a strong influence of alternatine rock and latin culture. Having a strong local fan base, Bad Hombres have played iconic Hollywood venues such as House of Blues, BB kings and The Viper Room. The love for their fans have brought Bad Hombres to packing countless additional local spots.
Behind the drums, jujitsu instructor Sebastian Stone. On guitar, you may have seen his art work as a backdrop for Morrissey’s live concerts, Victor Esparza. The talented bass player and music creator Jaime Carrasco and behind the magical microphone, Bernard Hoyos.
