Do you have a story behind your artist name?
fieldfox. is a concept inspired by the traditional kitsune, yet it embodies an opposite idea. While kitsune are often associated with cunning and transformation in folklore, fieldfox. represents a contrasting perspective, emphasizing stability and a different set of values. This unique interpretation invites exploration of the dualities present in nature and mythology.
Tells us a bit about your music journey. How has it shaped you?
We are four friends who never thought we’d return to music. For us, there was no motivation until fieldfox was formed. Through the band, we found a unique connection that has allowed us to get to know and understand each other deeply, which is reflected in our songs. Music has shaped us by giving us a shared purpose and a creative outlet to express the ups and downs of life. It’s taught us patience, collaboration, and the value of vulnerability, both as individuals and as a group. fieldfox has not only reignited our passion for music but has also brought us closer as friends and musicians, inspiring us to push our boundaries and tell stories that resonate with others.
How would you describe your sound to someone unfamiliar with it?
Drawing inspiration from the vibrant emo and pop punk music scenes of the 2000s, fieldfox strives to create a unique musical experience that blends innovation with a sense of nostalgia. Their sound is a tapestry woven with fresh, modern influences while infusing a poignant melancholy that echoes the emotional depth of the past. This fusion invites listeners on a journey that resonates with both the excitement of new melodies and the familiar, reflective tones of a beautiful era.
What drew you to the genre /instruments you’re playing right now?
In many bands, there are usually two people who take the lead, but in fieldfox, there is no such thing. Everyone has their own role, and we carry it out with great pride. What drew us to the instruments and the genre we play now is the way they allow us to channel the music that shaped us. Growing up with the 2000s music scene, we were influenced by bands that blended raw emotion with intricate melodies, and those influences naturally found their way into what we create today. Our instruments are like extensions of ourselves, helping us craft a sound that feels nostalgic yet modern. We’re like time travelers, drawing inspiration from the past while carving out a place for ourselves in the present.
What inspires you to write music?
What inspires us to write music is real-life experiences. Our songs are deeply rooted in the moments in our lives —whether it’s joy, heartbreak, love, or loss. Each of us brings our own stories, and together we weave them into something meaningful. Writing music is our way of processing emotions and making sense of the world around us. It’s inspired by the highs and lows of life, the connections we form with others, and even the struggles that push us to grow. Ultimately, we aim to create music that resonates with people, allowing them to find pieces of their own experiences within our songs.
Would you tell us about your current project, album/EP, or song you’re promoting?
Our current project is ‘Brooklyn,’ a song that holds a special place in our journey as a band. It’s not just a single; it’s a reflection of where we’ve been and where we’re headed. ‘Brooklyn’ is about connection—between people, places, and the memories that tie them together. The music captures a sense of longing and nostalgia while still feeling grounded in the present. The process of creating it was a true collaboration, with each of us bringing our own perspective and energy to the song. The response to the track has been incredible, and we’re excited to see how it resonates with new listeners as we continue sharing it. For us, ‘Brooklyn’ isn’t just a song—it’s a chapter in our story that we’re proud to tell.
What do you want listeners to take away from listening to your music?
There are good days and bad days, but what is a reality is that we feel alone. Many times we don’t know how to express ourselves and we look for the perfect lyrics to say it. As a band, we are aware of that and we want to share our perception of similar experiences. Being able to help overcome any adversity through music is part of our main goal of reaching more people.
Who are your top three artists right now? If that’s not a fair question, what’s your favorite song right now?
With musical influences ranging from blink-182, Yellowcard and Armor For Sleep.

Bio:
In the vibrant music scene of Las Vegas, Nevada a new band emerges that promises to revolutionize the alternative rock genre: fieldfox. Made up of musicians who are no strangers to the Vegas Music Scene: Juncko Seb (Lowel), Angel Gomez (A Real King, The Family Mortuary), Gerry Trevino (A Real King, Kalani, TRVLRS, High Sierra Club, Solo) and Carlos Paguaga (Jacky Vincent, Kevin Rudolf) all aim to connect with those who continue to love all of that wonderful 2000’s pop punk music that so many of us grew up with, but with a modern and progressive twist with elements of metalcore and emo.
Each member of fieldfox. have all had significant reach in their own right including touring in the US, Japan & Mexico, played at venues such as Whisky a Go Go, (formally) ‘Vinyl’ at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino & The Space, and have also played along side bands such as Arch Echo, Spitalfield, Rest, Repose (Ryan “Fluff” Bruce/now Dragged Under), The Fine Constant (Sarah Longfield) & Strawberry Girls.
With their energy and passion, fieldfox. is the band that alternative music fans have been waiting for.
