Adopting the famous line of text from Paradise Lost following Satan’s defeat on the battlefield against God’s army, Rot in Heaven…Reign in Hell stands as a refuge for the damned and a symbol of freedom from the status quo of divinity. Marking the band’s first release of new material since 2023’s Death & Destruction EP, Loöse have gotten heavier, more precise, and remain a headbanger’s haven. Released June 20, the new album exemplifies the band’s ability to combine elements of death metal, hardcore, and thrash into their own percussive, stylised onslaught of sound.
Hailing from Barrie, Ontario, Canada, Loöse lead a heavy metal revival complete with staged spectacles including decapitated mannequins, gun belt adornments, leather, stage blood, and a punishing sound that drives every audience into a frenzy. The band’s sinister mixture of furious speed and crushing weight make for a sound that chugs, grooves, and propels the listener unfettered towards the brink of exhaustion.
Now bolstered by their best work to date, Loöse have poised themselves to be absolute monsters on any stage they stride.
