#lameassdads are a Pop Punk band you’d want to call daddy! However, they’ll run out in their bathrobes to tell you to stay off their lawns!
First off, What’s up with your name? Is there a story behind it?
Ryan – Haha, we get this a lot! I came up with the name because I figured when people would find out that a bunch of dads started a pop-punk band in their late 30s they’d say “What a bunch of lame ass dads…” so we figured we’d get ahead of it and be in on the joke. The hashtag was added because isn’t that what all the kids are doing these days?
Tell us about your musical past, would you tell us about your early years?
Ryan – All of us have been playing in bands since middle school and high school. Dan and I grew up together and Andy and Tim grew up together. We’ve all played in countless bands over the years, but it’s the first time that all 4 of us have played together in a band. Dan and I met in a guitar class we had in high school. We quickly became friends because we both loved a lot of the same music and had a lot of similar interests. This is now the 4th band that we have played together in.

How would you describe your sound?
Ryan – I would say that we have that classic 90s/Alternative pop punk sound. It is the music we came of age to and it holds a special place in our hearts. We have dual vocalists similar to bands like Blink-182 or The Menzingers.
Which artists have the biggest influence on your sound?
Ryan – Millencolin, The Ataris, MxPx, Face to Face, Blink-182, Bad Religion
What’s the last song you listened to?
Ryan – Half Dizzy “Propaghanda”
What’s your source for hearing new music?
Ryan – Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube, and BandCamp
Who is your dream producer?
Ryan – Anyone who will challenge us and help us make the best songs we can, while also having a teacher’s heart.

If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be?
Ryan – The list is too long.
What led you to music, and what motivates you to keep making it?
Ryan – I was always drawn to music from the time I could remember, but it wasn’t until I was 15 and wanted to impress a girl that I picked up a guitar and taught myself how to play. Now it is like an itch I have to scratch. There are days when I am beat tired and just want to go to bed, but I have to sit down and play my guitar either along to my favorite albums or writing new material.
Tell us about the songwriting process. How does it all come together?
Ryan – writing lyrics does not come super easy to me so I usually wait until I am inspired by thinking of a catchy melody or a hook then I will lean into that and write around that one specific idea.
How do you connect with your audience? What is the easiest way for them to connect with you?
Ryan – Instagram and Facebook are where we are most active. But we are starting to dable into tiktok as well. It’s a work in progress. www.lameassdads.com is a linktree to all of our various sites.
INSTAGRAM / SPOTIFY / WEBSITE / YOUTUBE
What’s next for you?
Ryan – Punkerton Records out of Columbus just released our album on Vinyl so we are heavily promoting that. We are also in the process of shooting a music video and writing new material.
Anything else you’d like to add or let us know about?
Ryan – We just appreciate the opportunity that you’ve allowed us to speak about what we are doing and who we are!
BIO –
#lameassdads is a pop-punk band from Nowhere, Ohio whose members are, well… #lameassdads! The band was formed in early 2021 when two friends, Ryan and Andy, decided they still had some gas in the tank for songwriting and creating. Now in their late 30s with real jobs, families, and responsibilities, they realized they still needed an outlet to get their adult angst out. Inspired by artists such as Blink-182, Bad Religion, MxPx, and Descendants, they began collaborating together on their first collection of original songs. Together they tackle topics of long sleepless nights, the hard but rewarding job of parenting, loss of loved ones, falling in love, personal growth, and remembering the glory days that led them to where they are now. To stay connected with what the guys are up to, head over to www.lameassdads.com but stay off their perfectly manicured lawns!
