Do you have a story behind your artist name?
Mistakes Worth Making comes from the idea that every action has a reaction, and every choice we make shapes what happens next. Our mistakes don’t define us, they help us grow, learn and become who we’re meant to be.
Tells us a bit about your music journey. How has it shaped you?
For most of my life, I’ve felt like I don’t belong. I always knew I was different, but I struggled to accept it because I just wanted to fit in. I went through a lot of dark times where I felt lost and didn’t see the point in anything, but writing songs gave me purpose. It became a way for me to express myself and make a difference. Now, I make music to make sure no one has to face their problems alone.
How would you describe your sound to someone unfamiliar with it?
I make Pop Punk for The Underdogs—modern, accessible, with raw and emotional lyrics.
What drew you to the genre /instruments you’re playing right now?
When I was going through a hard time, I discovered bands like A Day To Remember, Mayday Parade, You Me At Six, and All Time Low. Their lyrics really spoke to me, and their music gave me the strength to keep going. I’d always wanted to play guitar since I was a kid—I actually got really good at it on Lego Rock Band, but let’s just say those skills didn’t exactly transfer to the real thing, haha! Luckily, my grandad, who’s a really talented musician, gave me some lessons, and now I’ve been playing for around 12 years!
What inspires you to write music?
I take inspiration from my own struggles and experiences and turn them into music for others. Songwriting helps me process my emotions, but more importantly, I feel like my purpose is to create music that helps people feel understood—so they don’t have to face their struggles alone.
Would you tell us about your current project, album/EP, or song you’re promoting?
I currently have three songs out: It’s Okay Not To Be Okay (letting people know it’s okay to struggle and they’re not alone), Lose It All (about relationship struggles caused by external factors like marriage, children, and distance), and Useless (about feeling overlooked and unheard). I’m working on lots of new music right now, so stay tuned!
What do you want listeners to take away from listening to your music?
I hope people connect with the lyrics and that my songs help them stay strong. But more than anything, I want them to know they have a place where they belong.
Who are your top three artists right now? If that’s not a fair question, what’s your favorite song right now?
My top three artists right now are Young Culture, Rain City Drive and Magnolia Park. They write amazing music with really important messages and I really love how they incorporate modern elements into their music and blend different genres.

Bio:
I’m Peter Blythe – the voice behind Mistakes Worth Making. Once a trio, now a solo project creating pop punk for the underdogs.
Growing up, I felt isolated and struggled with depression—music was the one place I could truly escape. Today, I’m channelling that same honesty into a fresh, unapologetic take on pop punk that’s all about empowering those who feel overlooked.
The songs I write capture raw emotions and help me feel understood, and I want to pass that feeling on to others. I write with the hope that anyone who’s ever felt alone or overwhelmed can find strength and comfort in these songs.
This is my journey, and I’m glad you’re here to be a part of it.
