In their latest single, art-rock quartet Absolutely You capture the struggle between holding on and letting go with ‘Orbit’.

Hailing from Simcoe County, Absolutely You honour the credo of quality over quantity. Every release is precisely crafted without any loss of the genuine emotion that inspires each song. Operating at the point between provocation and thoughtful intent, the band dedicate their time to break down the most powerful of feelings, and rebuild it into a song that anyone can connect with.

‘Orbit’ is a perfect example of this process in action.
Released on September 25, ‘Orbit’ is an emotional journey that pulls, pushes, and spins the listener around with dizzying and disorienting purpose. The introspective lyrics set against the driving instrumentation create a sense of urgency that something has to change, or risk being repeated ad nauseum.
A music video for ‘Orbit’ dropped the next day and plays out like combination of The Blair Witch Project and the acid trip scene from Hardcore Logo. The flashing light and double-exposure juxtaposes jarring movement with a seemingly innocuous backdrop. It perfectly sums up the feeling of ‘Orbit’. The constant shifting and pulling perspective is unsettling, but deeply affecting.
‘Orbit’ is the first track released from Absolutely You’s upcoming EP, a fleeting sense of urgency, due out November 14.
