Fusing the restless energy of youth with the cultured cynicism that age often brings, Homebase bare their frustrations, dig in, and commiserate as they fight on in “Nuff Said”. Released January 23, the latest single from the New Jersey/New York newcomers bring the hallmark hooks of pop-punk with the aggressive delivery of hardcore.
A follow up to their debut single “Bold”, the new single demonstrates the undeniable chemistry the band has created and they refuse to fall into a state of stagnation. Since forming in the summer of 2023, Homebase quickly made a name for themselves in the underground scene and the urgency of their music is matched only by the dynamic style of its delivery. As most bands strive to find their footing with early releases, Homebase are heels down, squared up, and ready to keep moving forward.
With “Nuff Said”, the band tackles doubt, pressure, and the frustrations that come from working towards change and constantly hitting dead ends. At its core, “Nuff Said” shrugs off the mounting burdens of life’s many curveballs and encourages the listener to take the L, regroup, and try again. Blind optimism is no longer an accepted currency in music – Homebase deals in honesty: unpolished, a little tarnished, but always welcome.
“Out of all the songs we have written, I believe ‘Nuff Said’ is the core of what we wanted to accomplish in our songwriting,” says Antonio Valentino (vocals). “The lyrics reflect our work ethic as a new band, especially in the midst of inadequacy that constantly nagged at us. That mindset can really damage how you view yourself—music becomes less inspiring, friendships feel strained, and even congratulating others can feel twisted. This song was our chance to confront those feelings head-on. It’s not about who you are that defines you—it’s about what you do. We love the hype it brings, and we couldn’t be more proud to finally share it.”
