“I’ve Made a Huge Mistake” opens and sets the tone for the EP. The track has hard-hitting drums and a fantastic melody that will get stuck in your head. The guitar and bass sound amazing too!
A guitar and bass intro starts “Don’t Act Like Me.” A few moments later, the drums crash in, and then the vocals plead with us, saying, “Don’t act like me.” Other notable lines are “Don’t act like me, because everything I do is just another way to screw up.”
“Take It Back” is my favorite track on the EP. It’s upbeat and catchy. Colin’s vocals are unique yet accessible. This track will stay with you long after you hear it. They repeat, “Maybe, you might be the one,” a few times in the chorus; however, I’m confident this is the one for me.
“Pinks and Blues” is the ballad on the EP, starting with vocals and a piano. The other vocalist in the band gets a feature for a while, turning into a duet. The song crescendos with the whole band crashing in, heightening the song’s energy. “You’ll find no resistance, stuck in panic mode,” are intriguing lyrics.
True to their biography, Promise Game cover’s Sheryl Crows’ “If It Makes You Happy.” It’s relatively faithful to the source material if you count, making it Pop-Punk. It’s enjoyable to listen to.
Changing things up, “Thanks for the Anxiety” starts with a keyboard as the intro. The song has an engaging groove that’ll have you bobbing your head in approval. “Staying up in my bed all night, I’m heavy breathing and I’m trying to catch that feeling” are awesome lyrics from the chorus.
Overall, It Won’t Be Long. . . is 100% worth listening to. It’s a complete joy to have pushing through your speakers, as it’s easily this season’s must listen to Pop-Punk EP from an underground artist. If you enjoy Pop-Punk, then look no further!
